Anderson, Tim—(8/25/03) Tim left active duty back in Feb 90, moved back to Davenport, IA and started working for a life insurance company across the Mississippi River in Rock Island, IL. In June, he made a great 8-day, 2700 mile vacation on his BMW touring motorcycle attending a rally (Americade) in Lake George, NY. He stopped by and saw Elliott Kugel and family in Hillsborough, NJ and Red Jentz (4th Co) and his family in Cincinnati on the return trip.
Bertch, Tim – – (7/10/05) Tim and Michaela live in San Diego, with Ben-15 and Josh-6. In Dec 03, Tim finished command of USS HELENA, did a short transition tour at SPAWAR and began working for Lockheed Martin. Michaela teaches high school chemistry.
Donoher, Paul Edward—(10/14/03) Paul is flying for American Airlines as a First Officer (co-pilot) out of Chicago O’Hare. He lives back home in Dayton, OH and commute to Chicago for trips. He is married to Shelly, and has two children, son Kevin (14) and daughter Shannon (13).
Dziminowicz, John W. — (11/20/04): John has taken command of the 10th Wing.
Fisher, Robert Edward, Jr.(8/17/02) Rob left active duty in ’90 and began flying for FedEx and is now Chief Pilot, Asia Pacific Region for FedEx. He flies the Airbus 310 throughout Asia but his primary role now is managing the crew force of 70 pilots based here in Subic. Rob, Sue and their three children (Alexandra, Trey and Madeleine) live in Subic Bay in the Philippines. Rob is the High School Wrestling coach and two of his wrestlers won the gold at the FarEast Wrestling Championship in Japan against 18 other schools. They participate in outreach programs in the Philippines and have embraced the ex-pat lifestyle for its adventurous flavor and opportunities.
Greene, Robert Lawrence – – (5/4/07) I was reactivated in October of 2005 and deployed for one year to Kuwait as Commodore, Naval Coastal Warfare Squadron Two Six. Upon my return this last October, my civilian company transferred me to Richmond, Virginia from Granbury, Texas, as Director, Eastern Region for Power Generation (Suez Energy).
On the Reserve side, I had my Change of Command in December and now report to Chief of Naval Personnel as Chief of Staff of the supporting detachment. My oldest son, Matt (21) is wrapping up his Junior year at University of Florida and has been accepted to the Nuclear Power Officer Candidate Program. No. two son, Tim (19) is finishing is plebe year, Class of 2010, USNA. My daughter, Carrie (17) will be going to James Madison University this Fall and my youngest, Kevin (14) will be a high school Freshman in the Fall.
I’m looking forward to seeing as many classmates at our 25th reunion.
Groters, Douglas – -(6/15/07) Doug retired from the Navy; finishing his career at the Naval Research Laboratory as a Military Deputy in the Oceanography and Meteorology Science and Technology Directorate. Judy, Doug, and their four children (Matt, Rachel, Kyle, & Abby) moved to Chicago/Lombard in Jul 03, where Doug was the Commandant for a new JNROTC Academy for a year. In July 04, he became a teacher at Mooseheart Child City and School. In Jun 07, his oldest son, Matt, graduated from high school. Matt will attend Northeastern Illinois University next year as a violin performance major. Doug has taken up cycling this summer and plans to pedal across lower Michigan in June and up the west coast of Michigan in August.
Hintze, Donald Wayne –(3/09/07) Wayne is working as a Research Analyst/ Project Director for Westat, Inc. in Rockville, MD. Colleen and Wayne still live in Boonsboro, MD. Wendy graduated from Belmont University in Nashville in Dec 2006 as a double major and has started her career in Nashville. Luke is attending West Virginia Univ and is still in the WV Air National Guard. Logan is attending Potomac State College in Keyser, WV and has signed up for the WV Air National Guard also.
Hubler, Warren Gregory – – (07/1/03) Warren and Meg live in Oklahoma with their three sons: Thad (16), Tory (14), and Heath (4). Warren still works for Helmerich & Payne, an international drilling contractor, where he is now Vice President of HSE (Health, Safety, and the Environment).
King, Tony–(8/20/07) Tony and Julie live in Charlotte, NC where I work for Siemens PLM – the software branch of their company. My son Jesse has already graduated from college and is working locally in Charlotte. Travis is a “middie” and is a “firstie”. He plays soccer for Navy as well. My youngest – Lindsay is a junior at App State where she plays tennis.
Kugel, Elliott Matthew – – (7/23/17) For my service selection, I was on SSBN-617 out of Holy Loch, Scotland. After 5 years of active duty, I remained in the active reserves for 10 years. My wife, Dina, and I have been married for 25 years. A fellow reservist from the Class of ’81 introduced us – he and Dina both were interns at the same law firm. We have two daughters. Lindsay just graduated from NYU Stern Business School in New York City in May. She will be working at JP Morgan in Treasury Services starting in August. Jenna just completed her plebe year at USNA as a member of the Class of 2020. I received an MBA from NYU Stern after active duty and have been working at Merrill Lynch for 25 years. Dina and I live in Skillman, NJ which is the town next to Princeton.

Luehrsen, Russell Paul – -(08/31/07): Russ, Ann, and their three children (Shawn, Stephanie and Samantha) have settled into Centreville, VA. Russ changed companies at the end of Feb 07 from Anteon to the Aerospace Corporation. He is supporting international efforts at NRO. He has taken up cycling and put in close to 1700-2300 miles per year since 2004. He completed his second Century (103 miles) ride in August proudly wearing a Naval Academy cycling jersey. Shawn started his sophomore year George Mason University. Stephanie started her first year at Old Dominion University. Samantha is a junior in high school.
Metzler, Timothy I.–(08/26/07) Tim, Kay (married 12/1983) are empty nesters in San Antonio (moved there in1988). Two children Kathy (with four grandchildren) and Timothy P. (still looking for that special someone) are out on their own (Timothy just this past year). Nothing special accomplished in the Navy. Flew P-3s out of Moffett Field, ran officer programs recruiting in south Texas (did I mention I married a TEXAN), and retired from the reserves after 20 wonderful years. Keeping busy delivering mail on a rural mail route and doing home improvements. Next project will be fixing up a place to stay on our 245 acres in the Junction Texas area where the wife does her hunting.
Montesi, Gregg Edward–(06/06/03) Gregg and Lisa have two children, Piper (1996) and Eva (2000) and live in Arlington, MA.
Murdter, Michael J.
Powers, Timothy J. – – (12/6/06) TJ lives in Groton, CT. He works for Sonalysts in RI providing software support for the Navy. In Sep 06, he ran in the Hartford Half Marathon. He is considering trying a marathon again next year – possibly the Marine Corps Marathon.
Rayermann, Richard E.–(4/15/02) Richard is married to Marianne and has two boys, Thomas and Matthew. He is working with American Airline and living in Grapevine, Texas.
Reilly, Kevin Peter–(5/10/07) Kevin transferred from active duty Nuke Submarines to the Reserves as a Diving and Salvage Officer. He retired on a disability in 1997 from decompression sickness (The Bends). In the mean time he worked as a defense contractor making underwater rebreathers, night vision, and laser target designators; been a GS15 in the Dept of Energy running a billion dollar space program and a $300 million particle accelerator construction project; was VP Engineering in a Silicon Valley Venture startup making video surveillance equipment and building penetrating radars; retired to NC; worked in Tucson with digital video security systems development; became VP of a Nuclear clean-up company in Pittsburgh. Now he lives in Pittsburgh with his wife Natoka and daughter Oriana (12) where he is CEO of several renewable fuel start-up companies.
Roberts, John Edward – – (12/19/03) John lives with his wife, Jean, and child, Jesse, in Friendswood, Texas. He recently retired from the USAF, and will hopefully be with Southwest Airlines early 2004.

Simpson, David Grey – – (12/12/07) Dave, Gail and their three kids, Amelia, Kelsey and Eric now live in Springfield, VA with Dave working in OPNAV N6. This follows a whirlwind couple of years that saw them move from Korea, to Florida, to Puerto Rico, to Tennessee, to Germany, to Japan and now Washington D.C.
Skopowski, Paul Francis – – (6/11/03) Paul retired from the Marine Corps on 1 Jan 03 and currently works for Northrop Grumman as a contractor at the Marine Corps Network Operations and Security Command in Quantico. He is married to the former Theresa Kregel and they have three children, Kristen (13), Joseph (11) and Jack (5).

Stank, Theodore Paul – – (5/26/03) Ted recently accepted a teaching job at the University of Tennessee. He is a professor of logistics and supply chain management in the business school. Lori, Ted and their three boys (Logan-10, Connor-8, and Quinn-6) are moving to Knoxville, TN.
Sweeney, Kevin Michael – – (7/1/07) Kevin moved from being the Executive Assistant to the Under Secretary of the Navy to the Executive Assistant to the Commander, US Joint Forces Command and Supreme Allied Commander, Transformation. He returns to his family (Abigail, Kevin, and Colin) in Virginia Beach.

Thayer, William A. – – (3/30/06) Bill left the Navy in 1992 after a couple of sea tours and a stint at the Naval War College. After the Navy Bill, Sara, Cody, and Grant stayed in Rhode Island, where Bill went to work for American Power Conversion (APC). In 1995 they moved to Sydney, Australia to help ramp up APC’s Asia Pacific operations. They finally let him back into the country and they moved back to Rhode Island with APC in 2004. The following year, Bill left APC & moved to Silicon Valley to take a job with an alternative energy start-up in Sunnyvale. He & the family now live in Los Gatos.
Thomas, Gregory R. – -(7/10/05) Greg, Mary and his 3 children (Sarah, Matthew, and Michael) complete their time at SUBLANT this summer. Greg will be heading to Portsmouth, Naval Shipyard where I will assume duties as Operations Officer.
Velez, Rene – – (4/15/02) Ray did a lateral transfer to 1610 (Special Duty -Cryptology) and now serving as the EA for RADM Whiton (OPNAV N00X) Special Asst. to the CNO for Information Operations located in the reconstituted Navy Command Center.
