Niskanen, Steven Edward — 5/1/2012–Dee and I still living in The Woodlands, TX. Son attending Texas Tech, and daughter at home attending community college then will transfer to Texas A&M.
4/2/2007 – Enjoying life with wife Dee of 20+ years living in The Woodlands, TX. We have two kids – Jonathan 16 a sophomore and marching band member, and Katie 14 active in choir. Became an Aggie in 2004 (where I was going to go to school before my USNA appointment) upon finishing an executive MBA program. Working as a Project Director leading design and construction teams to build various projects – just completed a $98 million hospital December 2006. Started a new job the first of the year providing design-build consultant services to a major automobile related company here in Houston as they do a vehicle processing site transformation. On the fun side, qualified bareboat charter skipper in Ft. Lauderdale this past February and we are going to charter a Catamaran in the BVI this summer. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion – I will be there this time! We have lots of catching up to do!
Parson, Ronald George — 1/12/07 I retired from the Navy in 2002 and took over the family business, Granlibakken, a conference center and resort at Lake Tahoe. I’ve been married to Lauren since 29 May 1982, and we have four kids – Catherine 20 who attends the California Maritime Academy, Matthew, 18, an d Eagle Scout and high school Senior; Christopher, 16, a high school Sophomore; and Sarah, 12, a sixth grader.
If any one is planning a reunion, conference or vacation, Lake Tahoe is a great place for any of those.
Powell, Lonnie–6/23/07–Three Boys Justin 14, Connor 12 and Spencer 9. Work in technology for Avaya. In the past 20 plus years I picked up an MBA, did some flight instructing and a little charter work. Have owned a business, help start a church, read some good books, done a little golfing.

I left active duty after 5 1/2 years as a SWO to join our family manufacturing business. We manufacture fireplace gas log sets and Solaire Infrared Grills (www.rasmussen.biz).
Irene and I have been married for eighteen years. We have two sons: Teddy (16) and Chris (13). We are always busy with their “three S’s (School, Sports and Scouts). We both work in the business in Whittier, CA, and reside in Fullerton. I am an assistant scoutmaster with the boys’ troop; a twenty year Rotarian; and a Salvation Army advisory board member. Rios, Mark R.—6/1/07–Still serving in the Navy as Commander, MCM Squadron TWO/MCM Class Squadron in Ingleside, TX. Married to Cynthia since 29 May 1982. We have two sons, Phillip, USNA ’07, who was just commissioned an Ensign, and Andrew, who is will graduate from high school and enter Virginia Wesleyan College in the Fall. Although I’m stationed in South Texas (Corpus Christi), my family lives in Chesapeake, VA.
Settele, James Douglas — 1/22/2007 — We moved from Naples, Italy, in June 2006 and I am now serving as the CO of the NROTC unit at Maine Maritime Academy and University of Maine. Alison and I have three girls, Alexandra (16), Rebecca (14) and Kristen (11), and we live near Bangor, Maine.
Smith, Anthony Carl – – 6/23/02–I’m no longer CoS for MSC Far East in Yokohama. I left in January for Monterey to attend DLI and study Japanese for 16 months before going to Tokyo to be a student at the Japan National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS) which is their Ministry of Defense owned Joint War College. I’ll be in Monterey until May ’03 and Tokyo through Sep ’04. After that who knows? My wife, Naoko (from Yokohama, Japan) and our daughter Aiko are with me and they are enjoying Monterey.

Snyder, Glenn Reverdy — 1/28/2007 — I retired 10/1/06 after Submarine and Engineering Duty. My last assignment was Business Officer at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. Married (Betsy) for 20+ years. Five children. Drew the oldest is a plebe at the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. Brent is a high school junior. Mandy, the only daughter is in 7th grade. Cory is in 3rd and TJ is a first grader. I now work for Progeny Systems Corporation headquartered out of Manassas, VA. Small company. I am running a Navy development program.
