Somnitz, Stephen J. – – 12/5/03–My wife, Kathy, and I celebrated our 14th anniversary 11/11/03 and we have two boys: Nathan (5) and Christopher (3).  On the day before Thanksgiving (11/26/03), I had my ticket punched for Reserve retirement with 20+ “good” years.  A few years back I missed getting retirement credit for one year, so it took me 21 years to become eligible!  I am now a Senior Buyer in North American Procurement for Symantec Corp. (www.symantec.com) in Springfield, Oregon.  We’ve lived in Eugene, Oregon for almost 5 years this time around, after a 3-year stint in the early-90’s while I got my MBA at the Univ. of Oregon.  We are also very active in Worldwide Marriage Encounter (www.wwme.org) in our local area as well as the Northwest region. And, I am a Blue & Gold Officer, keeping an eye on the quality of the USNA candidates applying from the Eugene area.

Spear, John Gerard8/11/07–Living in Virginia Beach with Mary (married 24 years) and two children, Sarah 21, and John T. 19, both of whom are in college.  Day job working as 757/767 First Officer (Co-Pilot) for Delta Air Lines (now 10 years) and other job as Navy Reserve Captain with Commander, Strike Forces Training Atlantic 0486 in Norfolk, VA.

Enjoying life, but have few breaks with demands of both jobs.  Most likely will attend 25th Reunion.  Looking forward to seeing 15th company gang and many others who have been friends throughout the years afloat and ashore!!
