Jane Treadway Conley takes over as 1982 Class President

Classmates –

With my new fulltime position at the Alumni Association, I feel the need from a governance perspective to turn over my volunteer position as your Class President.  My EVP of Engagement duties will keep me very involved with all of the class business, and I think it is time to let another engaged classmate with pep and energy run with the baton for a while.  To that end, I formed a search committee made up of ’82 classmates VADM Terry Benedict, former Class President Dan Proulx, and 25th Company mate Jennie O’Friel to find our next willing volunteer President to see us through our 35th Reunion in 2017.

I’m pleased to announce that the committee unanimously recommended Jane Treadway Conley to assume the duties as Class President.  Jane has been volunteering for just about every class duty one could imagine, including work with the last reunion, home game tailgates, USNA chapel usher, and has once again stepped forward and has agreed to be your president.  If you follow half of Jane’s marathon and triathalon accomplishments, you know that she will run circles around us all.

I will work with Jane over the course of the summer to ensure we have a good handoff, and of course will have all of the resources at the Alumni Association to help Jane and the rest of the ’82 leadership team keep the pace going as we get closer to 2017.

Please welcome the new Goat One!  Go Navy, Bill Dawson
